TAADAS Honors Woodson Statewide Association Recognizes Senator for her Advocacy of Substance Abuse Recovery in Tennessee Nashville, Tenn. – Sen. Jamie Woodson (R-Knoxville) was recently honored with the 2007 “Voices on the Hill” Award from the Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drug and other Addiction Services (TAADAS). “I am truly grateful for this honor,” said Woodson. “TAADAS is an outstanding organization with an important mission. I look forward to working with them to continue to improve the services for those who have been affected by alcoholism, drug dependency and other addictions.” Woodson was chosen for the honor because of her sponsorship of legislation and advocacy in the Senate on behalf of the entire recovery community. TAADAS is a statewide consumer-oriented group representing thousands of consumers in recovery, family members and providers that work to promote the prevention and treatment of alcoholism and drug dependency. Woodson is currently serving as Chairman of the Senate Education Committee. She also serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Senate Transportation Committee and the Joint Fiscal Review Committee. Woodson represents the Sixth Senatorial District which includes part of Knox County. ### |
