Senator Jim Tracy to Hold Town Meeting

(NASHVILLE, TN), February 20, 2008State Senator Jim Tracy (R-Shelbyville) today announced that he will hold a "Town Meeting" in order to meet with the people of the 16th senatorial district and hear their concerns regarding issues before the State Legislature this session. 

"The General Assembly is facing decisions that affect all of us on many important issues such as our state budget, lottery education funds, open government, illegal immigration, competition of cable television services, and strengthening DUI laws, to name a few," said Senator Tracy.  "I want to be open and available to hear from area citizens about these and other important issues before us, as well as offer any assistance with state government agencies.” 

Tracy will be available at the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce at 100 North Cannon Blvd. in Shelbyville on Friday, February 29 at 9:00 a.m.

"The 16th district belongs to the people and I want to make sure that their voice is heard in Nashville.  I am looking forward to listening to our local citizens’ views on how we can make our state a better place to live," he concluded.

Tracy will be available at the following meetings scheduled for Rutherford County on Saturday, March 1st:

    • 9:00 a.m….Rutherford County Courthouse in Murfreesboro

    • 11:00 a.m...Smyrna Town Center, 100 Sam Ridley Pkwy. In Smyrna

    • 1:00 p.m….La Vergne Civic Auditorium, 283 Old Nashville Hwy. in La Vergne
