Ketron and DuBois Announce Grants for the Arts
Over $9,000 Awarded to MauryCounty Entities

Nashville, Tenn. – Sen.  Bill Ketron (R-Murfreesboro) and Rep. Tom DuBois (R-Columbia) along with the Tennessee Arts Commission are proud to announce the Maury County grant recipients for the upcoming fiscal year.

“Preserving the arts are an important aspect of enhancing the quality of life in our community,” said Ketron. “The Arts Commission’s matching grants are made possible through an appropriation of state funds by the legislature, federal dollars from the National Endowment of the Arts and by Tennesseans who purchase specialty and collegiate license plates.”

Organizations receiving awards are Highland Park Elementary School, $2,310; Maury County Public Library, $1,000; Columbia State Community College Foundation, $1,600 and Maury County Arts Guild, $4,240.

“The allocation process involves a review of citizen advisory panels made up of Tennesseans with expertise in appropriate arts disciplines and a review by the full 15-member Arts Commission,” commented DuBois.  “I greatly appreciate the hard work by everyone involved.  Maury County will truly benefit from the awards.”
