Ketron Honored by the Humane Association

Nashville, Tenn.Sen. Bill Ketron (R-Murfreesboro) has received an “Award of Outstanding Legislative Service” from the Nashville Humane Association.  The award states that Ketron was honored because of his work in the state Senate as an advocate on behalf of animals.

“I am truly humbled to receive this honor from such a great organization,” Ketron said.  “I consider my opportunity to serve in our State Senate an enormous privilege, and will continue to work diligently for the citizens of Tennessee.”
The Nashville Humane Association is a non-profit organization that, according to their website, promotes the  “humane treatment of animals, finding good homes for stray or abandoned dogs and cats, educating the public about their responsibility to help control the pet population, and providing treatment and care to ensure the well being of animals in our community.”

Ketron is the Chairman of the Senate State and Local Government Committee.   He is a member of the Senate Environment, Conservation and Tourism Committee, the Senate Education Committee,  the Select Oversight Committee on Corrections, the Select Oversight Committee on Workers’ Compensation and the Select Oversight Committee on Education.

Ketron also serves as the Chairman of the Contract Services Subcommittee of the Joint Legislative Fiscal Review Committee. He represents Lincoln, Marshall, Maury and Rutherford counties.
