Pigeon Forge Primary student, sponsored by Sen. Finney, is page on Capitol Hill (NASHVILLE, TN), April 23, 2008 – A fourth grade student from Pigeon Forge Primary School got a chance to see government in action when he became a page in the Tennessee State Senate. The student, Franklin Darnell, was sponsored by State Senator Raymond Finney (R-Maryville) and accompanied to Nashville by his mother, Dolly Darnell. Page duties consist of anything from making copies, running errands, to distributing legislative information to members of the General Assembly. They report to the Chief Clerk of the House and Senate. "I am pleased that Franklin had the opportunity to serve as a page for our State Senate,” said Sen. Finney. "It was a privilege to get to know him and be his sponsor. I hope that he will continue to be interested in his state government in the future."
