Pigeon Forge Middle School Student is Senate Page on Capitol Hill (NASHVILLE, TN), February 7, 2008 – A Pigeon Forge Middle School student got a chance to see government in action when he became a page in the Tennessee State Senate. The student, Alex Breeden, was sponsored by State Senator Raymond Finney (R-Maryville) and accompanied to Nashville by his grandfather, Michael Breeden. Page duties consist of anything from making copies, running errands, to distributing legislative information to members of the General Assembly. They report to the Chief Clerk of the House and Senate. "I am pleased that Alex had the opportunity to serve as a page for our State Senate,” said Sen. Finney. "I hope Alex and all of those who serve as pages for the General Assembly will take back a desire to help their community through running for elected office, volunteer service, or just in being an informed voter." Senator Finney represents the 8th senatorial district which includes Blount and Sevier Counties ### contact: Darlene Schlicher (615) 741-7666
