Finney Honored by Development District Nashville, Tenn. – State Sen. Raymond (R-Maryville) has been selected as the 2007 State Legislator of the Year by the East Tennessee Development District (ETDD). He was presented the award at the annual Tennessee Development District Association luncheon on Wednesday, March 21st. "I am truly humbled by receiving this honor," Finney said. "I consider it an enormous privilege to serve in the state Senate, and I will continue to work with the East Tennessee Development District to make Tennessee a great place to live." Tennessee’s Development Districts serve local governments by assisting with development, planning and advocacy. They focus on assisting communities with economic development while carrying out all plans for physical, economic and resource development. The East Tennessee Development District serves Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier, and Union Counties. Sen. Finney is the chairman of the Senate Calendar Committee, and serves on the Senate Finance, Ways and Means Committee, the Senate General Welfare, Health and Human Resources Committee and the Senate Environment, Conservation and Tourism Committee.
