Burchett Named TNCO Legislator of the Year
Nashville, Tenn. – Sen. Tim Burchett (R-Knoxville) has been named Legislator of the Year by the Tennessee Community Organizations (TNCO). He received the award at the Annual TNCO Awards Luncheon on Wednesday June 20th.
“On behalf of TNCO and the more than 10,000 people served by its member agencies, thank you for all that you have done for people with intellectual disabilities this year,” stated Robin L. Atwood, Executive Director of TNCO, in a letter to Burchett.
TNCO assists community organizations across Tennessee provide quality services to people with disabilities. TNCO also has an affiliated education organization, TNCO ACTS, that works to “provide education to the people who work for Tennessee's community provider organizations”.
“It is an honor and a privilege to receive a ‘Legislator of the Year’ award from such an outstanding organization as TNCO," said Burchett. "I look forward to working with TNCO in the future to continue to better the lives of Tennesseans with disabilities.”
Currently serving his third term in the state Senate, Burchett is the Deputy Speaker. He serves on the Senate Finance, Ways and Means Committee; the Senate Commerce, Labor and Agriculture Committee and the Senate State and Local Government Committee.
