Bunch Appointed to Environmental Management Roundtable
Nashville, Tenn. – Sen. Dewayne Bunch (R-9th Senatorial District) has been appointed to serve as a member of the National Conference of State Legislatures’ (NCSL) Environmental Management Legislative Roundtable by Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey (R-Blountville).
“Sen. Bunch has proven himself to be a very effective legislator,” said Ramsey. “He has done an outstanding job in the Senate, and I know that he will represent Tennessee well.”
NCSL is a bipartisan organization that serves as a forum for state legislators from all 50 states to discuss the most pressing issues facing the nation.
The Environmental Management Legislative Roundtable was established to give state legislators an opportunity to hear federal updates from U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) officials and share information with legislators from other states.
“I appreciate the confidence Lieutenant Governor Ramsey has shown by this appointment,” said Bunch. “I look forward to working with NCSL and sharing information relative to environmental issues facing Tennessee and our United States.”
Bunch is the Vice Chairman of the Senate Environment, Conservation and Tourism Committee and the Secretary of the Senate Rules Committee. He also serves on the Senate Commerce, Labor and Agriculture Committee, the Senate Government Operations Committee, the Judicial Council and the Select Oversight Committee on Education.
After serving eight years in the state House of Representatives, Bunch is in his first term as a state Senator. He represents Bradley, McMinn, Meigs and Polk counties.
